Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial day this year, Jer and I drove to Utah to see some family and friends. We were able to spend time with my Grandparents that live in Orem and my cousins that drove in from Idaho. We had so much fun and didn't want to ever leave! It was so nice to be around family again. Unfortunately we were having SO much fun that we never took any pictures.. so here's an overview of what we did -

Thursday: We went to my 20 week ultrasound in the morning, Jer went back to work, I packed and cleaned, Jer got home and we left to bring Carter and Winston to the dog boarding, then we left for Utah! We left at around 5pm and got there at 3:45am. Yep..about 11 hours in the car. It was rough.

Friday: Jer and I did some clothes shopping for our baby boy :) then my Grandma took us to lunch at Five Guys.. delicious. We saw an old missionary (Elder Sargeant) that we knew from our branch in Texas there, which was pretty cool! After lunch we hungout with our friends from NY, Amelia and Braden, and also got to meet Amelia's boyfriend Austin.

Saturday: Jer went to Toule, Utah with some friends to watch the World Superbike Championship at the Miller Motorsports Park. He had been looking forward to it for a while and had a lot of fun catching up with friends. It was pretty sunny so he got a sunburn on his face, and then right as they were leaving it downpoured.. so he came back bright red and soaking wet! Haha.

As for me, I went to lunch with my Grandma, Aunt & Uncle, and cousins at Brick Oven in Provo :) It's one of my family's favorite places to eat so of course we had to go there. After lunch I went to see The King's Speech with some of my family at the dollar theater. I loved it! After the movie, we went shopping for a blessing outfit for our sweet baby boy :) I absolutely love the one we ended up getting, and can't wait for him to wear it! Then we went on a Krispy Kreme run and came home to relax and watch a movie.

Sunday: We went to church at my Grandparents ward. It was SO nice to get a break from Nursery duties and to be able to go to Sunday School and Relief Society! Especially because my Grandpa is the Sunday School teacher :) After church we came home and ate Pot Roast for lunch, changed into comfy clothes, and then Jer and I drove to Ogden to visit with Sam (one of Jer's best friends from back home) and his wife, Colette. They made us homemade pizza for dinner and it was delicious!! It was so refreshing to spend time with friends from home. After we ate, Greg (An old missionary that served at our home ward years ago), his wife Melissa, and their son Harrison came over to see Jeremy since they too live in Ogden right now. Hanging out with all of them made me really wish there were more couples here in South Dakota that were our age and either didn't have kids yet, or are just starting their families like we are, and shared our beliefs. After Greg and his family left we played Scrabble with Sam and Colette and talked for hours. Literally hours and hours. We finally got home to my Grandparents house at 3:45am!

Monday: We ate breakfast, then met up with Amelia and Austin one last time to say goodbye. We went to Jamba Juice and got a Pink Starburst smoothie :) It really did taste like a pink starburst!! I am now craving one. Then we met up with Jer's friend Jordan and his wife Ashley to say goodbye to them. I wish we had more time in Utah to spend more time with everyone! After that, we packed up the car and met my family at In N' Out Burger for a quick lunch before heading back to South Dakota.

This weekend went by way too fast but it was so nice to see our family and friends even if it was only for a couple of days :) Hope everyone had a great weekend!
