The "D" Word. (Again)

As of last Thursday, Jeremy's deployment has been changed. Instead of him going this November, til May of 2012 being stationed in Qatar, he is now deploying from May 2012 to November 2012 to Afghanistan.

This came as a big surprise, but that's life in the military for you! You can never really count on anything being set in stone. We're pretty bummed that it has been pushed back, because we already had a lot prepared for this coming November. Honestly though, deployment is going to be rough, anytime he leaves.

Now, this is our timeline for the rest of the time he has left in the states before he deploys.

August 15th through the beginning of September : Going home to NY for Nick's wedding, my baby shower, and to see family and friends.

September : My Dad will drive back to SD with Jeremy and I to stay with us for my last month of pregnancy and also for a while once baby Camden is born.

October : My due date is the 12th, and my Mom will be flying here to SD for Camden's birth. Not sure how long my parents will be able to stay yet.

December : Jeremy, Camden and I will fly home to NY for Christmastime.

April 2012 : Jeremy will be gone in Missouri for 5 weeks for a TDY (temporary duty assignment) for training on his job that he'll have when he's deployed. I will most likely move home to NY with Camden and the dogs before he leaves for this TDY, since Jer will be deploying very shortly afterwards.

May 2012 : We aren't sure of specific dates yet, but Jeremy will come home to NY to say goodbye to family and friends, and then deploy to Afghanistan until November.


It will be nice to have Jeremy around for this Christmas, since it will be our first as a family of three :) But now he will miss Camden's 1st birthday next October, along with a bunch of other things.

I know that everything happens for a reason, and I am so grateful and comforted knowing that we have our awesome family and friends, and especially our Heavenly Father, to lean on during the not so easy times we'll have in the future. I'm so proud of my husband and am thankful for the sacrifice he is so willing to make for our family, and for our country.
