Trip to the ER

Last night our brother Josh let us know that he was at the ER, and my first thought was that something was wrong with their baby girl Alanna. It WAS her, she was in a ton of pain and it turned out that she had a umbillical cord hernia! So Jeremy and I hurried on over to make sure everything was okay. Apparently they aren't very uncommon and a lot of babies get it. Boy do I have a lot to learn before i'm a mom! She will get it checked regularly but there is nothing that the doctors can do other than wait for it to seal up on its own, which usually takes from 1 to 2 years. It was a scary couple of hours, but we were all relieved that it wasn't something more serious.
